Literature Text

In outer space, there are stars in it. The upbeat show tune, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", plays.

Out there, there's a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby
There's a slick town, Barnaby
Out there
Full of shine and full of sparkle

Then, you can see more stars, distant galaxies, constellations, nebulas...

Close your eyes and see it glisten, Barnaby
Listen, Barnaby...

Finally, there's a single planet which is drab and brown. The camera moving towards it, pushing through its polluted atmosphere. In the planet's surface, a range of mountains takes form in the haze. The camera moving closer. The mountains are piles of trash. The entire surface is nothing but waste.

Put on your Sunday clothes, there's lots of world out there
Get out the brillantine and dime cigars
We're gonna find adventure in the evening air
Girls in white
In a perfumed night
Where the lights are bright as the stars!
Put on your Sunday clothes, we're gonna ride through town
In one of those new horsedrawn open cars

A silhouetted city in the distance what looks like skyscrapers turns into trash. Thousands of neatly stacked cubes of trash, stories high. Rows and rows of stacked cubes, like city avenues. They go on for miles.

We'll see the shows
At Delmonico's
And we'll close the town in a whirl
And we won't come home until we've kissed a girl!

In the avenue of trash, something walking on the ground far below. A figure at the foot of a trash heap. It appeared to be the 17 year old yellow rabbit boy who is four and a half feet tall, dark blue eyes, orange shirt with folded sleeves, brown pants, reddish-orange tennis shoes, brown gloves with cuffs, copper colored goggles, and a yellowish orange hair with spiky hair (or same hairstyle like Danny Fenton or Timmy Turner) named Matthew Rabbit who is diligently cubing trash. Every inch of him walks for trash compacting. He used his shovel to collect junks and  put them into his open machine. Its front plate closes slowly, compressing waste. It was faded label on his corroded chest plate, "Waste Allocation Loader - Earth Class". His cubed machine on the cart spits out a cube of trash. He pick it up and stacks it with the others. Something catches his eye. He tugs on a piece of metal stuck in the stack. It's a hubcap. The sun reflects off it. He checks the sky. On trash heap horizon, the sun sets through the smoggy haze. He places the hubcap in his red-orange backpack. He presses a button on his IPod in his pocket of his brown pants before the song stops playing. He sighed, "This is the end of a work day." He pick up his lunch cooler in his brown gloved hand. He whistles for his pet brown female ferret, Jacky. Jacky the ferret hops onto his shoulder as he smiled, "Come on, Jacky. It's time to go home now."

She nodded with a smile. He walked down with Jacky on his shoulder from the top of a giant trash tower. Then, the title appeared in the screen, "Mat-E."

At the avenues of trash of dusk, Matthew Rabbit travels alone, dragging the wagon with his invention on it. He traverses miles of desolate waste, oblivious to roving storms of toxic weather, passes haunting structures buried within the trash. Buildings, highways, entire cities...Everything branded with the same company logo, "Buy N Large", "BNL" stores, restaurants, banks...transportation! The corporation ran every aspect of life. There's even a BNL logo on Matthew's cube-shaped invention. The camera close on newspaper that Matthew walks over. The headline said, "TOO MUCH TRASH!! Earth Covered!!" The deck: "BNL CEO Declares Global Emergency!" A photo of the BNL CEO giving a weak smile. Matthew's old tennis shoes became torned out. Jack nuzzled her head at Matthew's face, making sounds and Matthew asked her, "Jacky, what's wrong?" She gestured her head to his shoes. He surprised and said, "Uh-oh. I've better find the newer ones than the old, torned shoes I've been wearing for months." He passes the remains of other leftover tennis shoes.  There is one fixed same shoes as Matthew's. He smiled, "Hmm." He fancies one with newer tennis shoes than his own...

Moments later at the deserted street, Matthew is now sports the newer shoes. He smiled, "There. My new shoes look much better now." He turned to his pet ferret and asked, "Isn't that right, Jacky?"

She nodded.

He walks past a series of holographic billboards. The solar-powered ads still activate when he passes them.

The billboard announcer's voice began to spoke. Ad #1 shows the BNL logo over trash. The announcer asked, "Too much garbage in your face?" Ad #2 shows the starliner in space. "There's plenty of space out in space!" Ad #3 shows the starliners take off from Earth. "BNL starliners leaving each day." Ad #4 shows plenty of garbage men wave goodbye. "We'll clean up the mess while you're away."

At the edge of the city, Matthew Rabbit walks down a deserted overpass which activates an even larger holographic billboard. The camera close on billboard AD shows off a city-sized luxury starliner, depicts passengers enjoying all its amenities. The billboard announcer's voice said, "The jewel of the BNL fleet: "The Axiom". Spend your five year cruise in style. Waited on 24 hours a day by our fully automated crew, while your Captain and Autopilot chart a course for non-stop entertainment, fine dining. And with our all-access hover chairs, even Grandma can join the fun! There's no need to walk! 'The Axiom'. Putting the 'star' in Executive Starliner."

The BNL CEO, Chet Ubetcha appears at the end, waves goodbye as the Axiom takes off and smiled, "Because, at BNL, space is the final 'fun'-tier." The holographic billboard powers off, reveals the Axiom's deserted launchpad in the distance. The mammoth structure sits across the bay. Now empty and dry. A polluted, dead valley.

On collapsed bridge ramp near its edge rests a transport truck. It's a giant child's Tonka Truck left to weather the elements. It has a "Buy N Large" logo on its side. Matthew approaches the rear of the truck and pulls on a lever. The back lowers. He walks up the ramp. Inside the truck,  he open racks for storing Matthew's line both walls. He has knickknacks of found junk littered everywhere. The tired 14 year old-like rabbit boy removes his newfound sneakers. He sighed happily, "Ahh... Home sweet home." He walks down the center aisle, flicks on an ancient Betamax player, jury-rigged to an iPod and pushes in a cassette labeled, "Hello Dolly!" When the TV turns on, the television image is very poor quality. The actors sing and dance to "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" or (POYSC) for short. This is the same song Matthew Rabbit worked to. Matthew began to hum "POYSC" song joyfully. He opens his cooler, he has newfound knickknacks. He pulls out the hubcap from his backpack. He ooks back at the TV. He started to mimic the dancers on the screen and pretends the hubcap is a hat. Then, he put the hupcap in the shelf. He continues to unpack: a Rubik's Cube which is unsolved with unmatched colors, a spork that he put it between the cups of spoons and forks, and a Zippo Lighter he had in his hand.

He smiled, "Hmm, this goes with these lighters."

He presses a button by the rack of shelves. They rotate until an empty space appears. His new items are lovingly added to the shelf. The Zippo joins a pre-existing lighter collection. A new song, "It Only Takes A Moment", plays on the video.

That it only took a moment

Matthew Rabbit is drawn to it. He presses his "Record" button on his tape recorder that he took it out from his pocket of his pants. On TV screen, two lovers sing gently to one another. They hold hands and walked together. Matthew tilts his head as he watches curiously. He holds his own hands as Mrs. Molloy and Cornelius sing the last verse.

To be loved a whole life long!

He sighed with his smile.

Later that night, Matthew walks outside and turns over his Igloo cooler to clean it out. He said, "I bet my cooler will be cleaned." He pauses to take in the night sky. The stars struggle to be seen through the polluted haze. Matthew said with his widened eyes, "Wow." Then, he presses the "Play" button on his tape recorder. The newly sampled, "It Only Takes A Moment" or (IOTAM for short) plays.

And that is all
That love's about

The wind picks up. A warning light sounds on Matthew's wristwatch. He asked, "Huh? What's going on?" He looks out into the night. As the raging sandstorm approaches off the bay. Unfazed, Matthew heads back in the truck. IOTAM still gently playing. ...The massive wave of sand roars closer...

And we'll recall when time runs out

As he raises the door, but it paused. He whistles for his ferret, Jacky to come inside and called out, "Jacky, get in here! The sandstorm is coming!" Jacky the female brown ferret ran inside the truck where her owner is at. Then, the door shuts just as the storm hits, obliterates everything in view.

Inside the truck, Matthew alone in the center of his shelter. He take out the Super Pet Sleep-E-Tent Ferret Bed from the left corner of his inner truck and push it gently to her.

That it only took a moment

Jacky the ferret happily jumped onto her ferret bed and falls asleep. Matthew went inside his sleeping bag and sleep for the night.

To be loved a whole life long!

It's good to finally start reading this. I don't think I even knew this fanficiton even existed. I did see the pictures, but I didn't know there was a story about it. Nice work so far.
